After reading a few DSLR reviews you probably have finally made the big purchase and bought a brand new digital SLR camera. As you learn the basics of photography and your camera, you probably will be looking to buy a new lens to expand beyond the performance and capabilities of the kit lens that came with your camera.

A prospective buyer can chose between two major lens categories: prime lenses and zoom lenses. Zoom lenses have variable focal lengths that allow a photographer to adjust the zoom power of the lens. Prime lens have fixed focal length and can only shoot pictures from a fixed distance without the ability to adjust.

What prime lenses lack in telephoto ability they make up for in having wider apertures and the ability to shoot far sharper images than their zoom lens counterparts at the same focal length. For the budget conscious, high quality prime lenses are often cheaper than equivalent high quality telephoto zoom lenses.

I bought a Nikon 105mm DC for my first lens because it is so easy to use. I do not mind that it does not have a great zoom because I just needed it to film small projects with. I go around schools in the area and film their school plays. Thy pay me a small fee and I provide them with copies of DVDs to sell. I really enjoy doing it because I have three children and they are always involved in some film or other so I don’t mind doing a couple of other schools as well. Often school plays are funnier than they you ever realise because children say the funniest things when they can not remember their lines. One time a girl noticed her mum in the audience and decided that she would stand in the same spot the entire time and wave at her mum.

We all know the saying about wedding bells. If you have spent many years with your partner and you have not yet popped the question, what is stopping you? Sooner or later it is going to be brought up in a conversation and if you and your partner love each other dearly, there should not be anything stopping you. Think about weddings in Charlotte. Do you still want to have fun before you get married? What is wrong with having fun as a married couple? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. There are many things you and your partner can do together. Maybe you enjoy a girl’s night out or a boy’s night out. These things do not have to come to an end once you are married. The only thing that happens here is that you have someone to answer to. However, there is nothing wrong with that. There should not be a problem if you love the person you are with.

The reason why people tend to go for a refurbished digital camera is obviously because it comes cheap. But anything that is cheap can come with a catch. Well, not necessarily if the person or seller you are buying it from is someone who adheres to quality. Most of the sellers who sell refurbished items, especially when it is an ongoing business makes sure that the best is done to take care of the quality of the item for the reason that they don’t want their reputation to be tarnished in an ongoing business.

So, when you are buying a refurbished digital camera or for that matter any refurbished item, make sure you are buying it from a seller who has an ongoing business interest and is someone who wants to ensure that his reputation is intact. Or even if the person is just a one-off seller it would still be a good deal if you buy it from sites that enable feedback and thus the person selling will be wary of the fact that if he sells off something that is damaged, will ruin his reputation in case he wants to sell off some other item in the future.

You as a buyer should not shun away from asking as many questions as you need to ask and to find out the exact status of the item. Value for money is important and since it is your money you have every right to ask ANYTHING…even if it is trivial.

If you are not buying it online but have the opportunity to physically check it before buying it then it is great. But sometimes you need to buy it online since the best deals could be offered by someone far away.

Anyway, you need to find out whether Check whether all the accessories are available such as Memory Card, USB cables, user manual etc., whether the connectors are in-tact or not, what is the warranty status, what is the current price of the new model etc.

Taking a few moments to do your research instead of blindly falling in for something that seems enticing on the surface, will go a long way in ensuring a safe purchase.
