Three Year AnniversaryNext Monday, my girlfriend and I are celebrating our three year anniversary. We both have the day off, so I want to take her shopping at the mall, get her a massage, and take her out to dinner at a nice restaurant. I know her favorite restaurant and that is where we are going. As for shopping, she has a two-thousand dollar budget. I think she will enjoy the massage because she always asks me to give her one. Before we go shopping, I will make her breakfast as well. A hot cup of coffee, French toast, and an omelet. I want to propose to her next year in Paris. She has always wanted to go to Paris, and I heard it was romantic. I really hope she enjoys spending her time with me on our anniversary. My girlfriend makes me so happy that I would do anything for her.

I go to a great pub, The “Sanctuary”, and since I am a little older than the usual “crawlers”, that just goes to show that anyone can have a great time here. They have these drinks coasters with various monks on them – well it is the Sanctuary – and they look at you as if to say “you sure you need another drink? You should be going home, friend!”. Yeah, I don’t listen to those imaginary voices, I’m too busy drinking.
My friend and I like to for a drink or two on a Friday night and we like to go in the neighborhood. This place is great, they have eight large televisions, lots of things to look at, antiques, signs, and if you like you can get a great sandwich and chips. Each Friday they have a drawing for your check, lunch, and once a month they give a really nice gift, tickets to a play, or something just as good. The really nice thing is there is no fighting, everyone is nice to each other and they don’t mind an old timer or two. The manager, is really a “hands on” owner and the customers know they can have a great time, but don’t get out of line.So if you want to have some fun drop in a “The Sanctuary” and you won’t be disappointed.

Coffee Brewing PercolatorsThe Automatic Coffee Machine, by now familiar to every schoolboy, was created in the 1930s and has gone through many modifications and innovations in its subsequent history. In the USA, the Coffeemaster automatic vacuum coffee brewer dominated the coffee equipment market right after WWII. The advantage of these was in their automatic vacuum percolation method and how the water heating components were controlled. After the war, the next round of advances revolved around refining the percolation process. Although percolation was known since the mid nineteenth century, and the earliest US patent of a percolator design dates back to 1865, the technologies did not gain true automation until the 1865s, the first truly modern coffee brewing percolator was built by a US farmer by 1889 in Illinois, in which year it was patented. His design was in its main features the percolator design still employed in stovetop percolators today. Water here is boiled in a heating vessel and emitted via a metal tube into the section which contains the ground coffee beans, and then drips back into the original vessel. Steeping is achieved via repetitions of the cycle, until stopped by the user.

My favorite food is the chicken kebab. Kebabs are succulent, aromatic meat pieces grilled on skewers or charcoal tandoor or rotisserie. Of the many varieties of kebabs that are available, I personally like Reshmi kebab the most. I even asked for these to be made by my Leicester caterer for my wedding bash of all things!
Chunks of boneless chicken pieces are marinated in yoghurt and a delicate combination of other Indian spices and cooked in a charcoal tandoor. The flavors of the charcoal are ingrained into the succulent chicken pieces and it imparts an authentic taste. It’s all about the marinating. As it is grilled, it is very healthy and nutritious also. This can be eaten with bread or Indian chapatti. A mint chutney and a plateful of salads consisting of cucumber, onions, carrots, lettuce and tomatoes goes along well with the kebabs and adds a zing to the food.
